WPS & Suicide Prevention Month
September is suicide and prevention month, making it an important time to remind ourselves and our community that support is always available.
MacEwan’s Wellness and Psychological Services (WPS) provides free and confidential counselling for students experiencing personal, academic, or other concerns affecting their mental health. Counselling appointments are available by telephone, video, and in person.

If you or someone is experiencing a mental health crisis or thoughts of suicide, please reach out and call or text 988 for the Suicide Crisis Helpline. This number is available 24/7 across Canada. If there is an immediate danger to someone’s safety, call 911.
SAMU Benefits
Did you know that your SAMU fees gives you access to coverage and benefits? SAMU’s Health & Dental Plan, Mywellnessplan and, Mylegalplan can help cover eligible expenses such as prescription medications, dental services, vision care, and other health-related and legal services. So, if you’re paying for any of these services out of pocket, take a moment to check your SAMU benefits. You may already have coverage that can help with the cost!!
